Nonwoven Interlining Fabric: Woven vs Non Woven Interfacing Guide Pakistan
Pakistan nonwoven interlining is used for collar, cuff, placket, waistband and front interlining in shirts, uniforms and suiting — see glossary of nonwoven terms and what is nonwoven fabric. Woven vs non woven interfacing difference is cost, stretch, recovery and fusing temperature. Nonwoven interlining is cheaper, dimensionally stable, and easy to cut — Olefins Pakistan supplies fusible and non-fusible interlining ex-stock Karachi as per product portfolio and TDS per product and textile nonwoven fabric — also see new pages geotextile nonwoven fabric and face mask nonwoven fabric.
What is Nonwoven Interlining Fabric?
Nonwoven interlining is 100% PP or PET spunbond or thermal bonded with PA or PES dot coating for fusing — GSM 20-80 as per TDS — width 60-210cm full, slit 10-105cm any slit tolerance ±0.5cm — see GSM guide and width guide. For bonding pattern see spunbond fabric and spunbonded olefin vs spunbond PP. For textile application see sourcing guide and quality and innovation. Olefins interlining is thermal bonded with S-dot pattern for soft hand and uniform dot coating adhesion — ideal for garment factories requiring fast fusing and no strike-through — roll length = Weight x 1000 / (Width x GSM). For related new guides see woven vs nonwoven geotextile and what is meltblown.
Woven vs Non Woven Interfacing — Difference Table
As per TDS — FOB Karachi — info@olefins.net — width 60-210cm — as per TDS-OLE-INT-20-80
| Feature | Woven Interfacing | Nonwoven Interlining (Olefins) |
|---|---|---|
| Construction | Woven cotton/poly — warp/weft | Spunbond PP/PET — thermal bonded — as per spunbond |
| GSM | 40-120 | 20-80 as per TDS — see GSM guide |
| Stretch / Recovery | Bias stretch, better drape | Low stretch, dimensionally stable — ideal for collar/cuff |
| Cost | Higher cost per meter | 40% lower cost — as per sourcing guide |
| Fusing | PA/PES dot — 130-150°C | PA/PES dot — 120-150°C — coating weight 3-15 gsm — see TDS |
| Application | Suiting, premium shirting | Shirts, uniforms, waistband, caps — see textile nonwoven |
| Cutting & Waste | Needs grain direction | No grain — easy die cutting — saves fabric waste 8-12% — see width guide |
How to Choose Right Interlining GSM
20-30 GSM → light shirts, placket — soft hand — PA coating 3-8 gsm — fusing 120-130°C
30-50 GSM → collar, cuff, waistband — medium stiffness — PA/PES 8-12 gsm — fusing 130-140°C — most common in Pakistan
50-80 GSM → caps, bags, furniture — high stiffness — PES 10-15 gsm — fusing 140-150°C — see furniture and face mask fabric
Pakistan Nonwoven Interlining — Specs As per TDS
Olefins interlining: 100% PP/PET spunbond, thermal bonded, GSM 20-80 tolerance ±3%, width 60-210cm full, slit 10-105cm tolerance ±0.5cm, coating PA polyamide for low-temp fusing 120-135°C and PES polyester for high-temp 140-150°C, dot density 50-120 dots/inch, coating weight 3-15 gsm as per TDS-OLE-INT-20-80. Tensile MD 40-120 N/5cm as per ISO 9073-3 / WSP 110.4, elongation 20-40%, fusing strength ≥8 N/2.5cm per ASTM D2724 after wash. Roll length formula as per width guide: Length = Weight × 1000 / (Width × GSM). Always order by meters, not kg, as per TDS library and product portfolio. Lot-specific stamped TDS, COA per lot available on request via contact us — also see geotextile fabric.
Fusible vs Non-Fusible — PA vs PES Coating Explained
Fusible interlining has PA or PES dot coating that melts under heat press to bond with shell fabric — PA is lower melting 120-135°C for delicate fabrics, PES is higher melting 140-150°C for stronger bond and wash durability up to 60°C wash. Non-fusible is sew-in without coating — used for caps and bags where sewing is sufficient. Coating weight directly affects bond strength — 3-5 gsm light bond, 8-12 gsm medium, 12-15 gsm heavy. Always test fusing on press at 12-15 sec, 3-4 bar pressure as per garment factory SOP. See TDS per product for fusing conditions and sourcing guide for bulk procurement. For width tolerance and roll length, see width guide and GSM chart and meltblown guide.
Why Olefins for Interlining in Pakistan — Ex-Stock Karachi
Ex-stock Karachi 20-80 GSM fusible and non-fusible, PA and PES, white and black, width 90-150cm most common for garment factories in Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot. Olefins uses thermal bonding with S-dot pattern for soft hand and uniform coating. Samples available within 2 days, bulk dispatch within 5 days. FOB Karachi and CFR to GCC as per current freight with OEM packing as per TDS library. For bulk order, see product portfolio and contact us. For related comparison see SMS vs SMMS and hygiene and shopping bags and geotextile nonwoven.
Storage and Handling of Nonwoven Interlining Rolls
Store rolls vertically in dry area below 35°C, avoid direct sunlight as UV degrades PP. PA coating can absorb moisture — keep packing intact until use. Use FIFO method as per garment factory quality system. Shelf life 12 months from production date as per MSDS — see TDS library. For quality certificates, COA per lot and OEKO-TEX 100 as per quality and innovation page available on request — WhatsApp +92 316 2055400 — request sample — see also face mask fabric guide.
